Agribusines

Ikigai Ventures Agricultural Division  focuses on integrating project development, sales and marketing services for the ethnic and specialty food industries in emerging markets.  We serve as a leading conduit in bridging the gap between farmers & cooperatives, product manufacturers, distributors, redistributors, importers, exporters, buyers, and retailers.  We focus primarily on assisting food processors and farming cooperatives identify which raw materials to grow and what value-added products should be developed based on current market trends and global demands.  Our impetus is centered on sustainably supporting the livelihood and development of local farming communities via creating sales channels whereby agricultural crops produced can have access to international markets.

Our Mission

To create a union between agricultural producers and purchasers for sustainable  long-term development and capital generation for host communities.

Our Values

  • To ensure farmers are equipped with sustainable farming techniques
  • To work with international buyers and local producers on account of paying fairly for crops being produced
  • To impress upon stakeholders the importance of being committed to and taking pride in the development of local communities
  • To guide and inspire farmers and institutions on the importance of food security
  • To help farmers in securing Organic and Non-GMO Certifications

Agricultural Development Initiative

In order to identify which specific crops should be grown, global markets are evaluated to confirm what crops are in demand based on regional consumer trends, as well as the requirements of identified buyers.  We also work with local farmers, cooperatives, and grower groups in determining which competitive advantage a particular region holds in producing a specific raw material.  Local farmers are supported in maximizing crop yields per hectare through implementing our Agricultural Development Initiative (ADI), which covers relocating Expatriate Agricultural Engineers to the host country that will train local farmers on industry best practices.

These commercial farming techniques apply industry benchmarks relating to cropping, pest control, harvesting, storage, value-added processing, and distribution.  Once raw materials have been developed in sufficient quantity, we advise related project promoters or farming communities to process the crops into finished or semi-finished products.  These value-added processed products are then marketed to end-users in order to maximize sales revenue, as opposed to merely selling unprocessed agricultural raw materials.

Value Added Processing

As EPC Contractors, we will work with our associated manufacturers and equipment suppliers to custom fabricate, install, maintain and operate plants and machinery on a turnkey basis.  Our associated manufacturers produce Industrial Ovens, Freezers, Grinders, Flour Mills, Poultry & Livestock Processing Machinery, Dairy Equipment, Fruit Processing Equipment, Seed Oil Production Lines, Juice Production Plants, Snack Food Production Lines, and many other types of Specialty Processing Machinery.  Custom food production machinery can also be fabricated to produce various types of ethnic foods.  The related processing plants will be designed, engineered, fabricated, and pre-assembled to allow for higher quality construction, shorter project schedules, and minimize the installation time at the project site.  Our group can also work on developing local related civil engineering aspects of the project to ensure successful on site installation.

As part of our post-sales support, we can supply Expatriate Engineers with years of experience operating the related processing equipment on three to ten-year management and operations contracts.  This will ensure our clients utilize experienced Food Processing Engineers that are capable of operating and maintaining the plants and machinery, while allowing sufficient time for technology transfer to take place to local Site Trained Engineers.
